Mental health & wellbeing

Work, life and wellbeing. We support all three.

Struggling isn't weakness. Telling someone is the strong move.

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999.

LabourLok support is for work, welfare and wellbeing during staffed hours. It is not a crisis service. The services below are.

  • Samaritans 116 123, free, 24 hours a day, every day.
  • NHS 111 for urgent help that isn't an emergency, or select the mental health option.
  • Shout text SHOUT to 85258 for free, confidential support by text.
Support and signposting

What's going on?

Detailed guidance for each area is being prepared with our wellbeing lead and will be published here. In the meantime, each card tells you how to reach us and who else can help.

Mental health and wellbeing

Low mood, anxiety, not coping, not sleeping. Talk to us, talk to your GP, or use the services above.

Workplace concerns

Worried about safety, treatment or something you have seen on site. Tell the site supervisor and tell us.

Bullying and harassment

Nobody should put up with it. It is taken seriously. Tell us and we will act.

Money and financial worries

Pay questions, debt, budgeting between jobs. Talk to us. Citizens Advice and StepChange offer free advice.

Housing

Nowhere stable to live, or a working-away problem. Tell us early. Shelter offers free housing advice.

Addiction support

Drugs, alcohol, gambling. No judgement from us. FRANK (0300 123 6600) and local services can help.

Crisis and specialist signposting

A directory of specialist services, being compiled now, will be published here.

Resources for young workers

Rights at work, first job guides, what a payslip means. Coming soon.

Talk to LabourLok

Call 07507 996670 during staffed hours, or use the Need help? button and choose "I'm struggling and need support". We will listen and point you the right way.

The difference

What LabourLok support is, and what it isn't.

We are the people who know your job, your site and your situation. We can listen, help you sort practical problems and point you to professional help. We are not counsellors, doctors or an emergency service, and we will always tell you when someone else is the right person to talk to.

  • Available during staffed hours
  • Confidential within our safeguarding and legal duties
  • Practical help with work, pay, accommodation and kit
  • Signposting to professional and emergency services
  • No judgement
