The badge should mean something. It tells a young person, a parent, a referral partner and a social value team that this employer gives genuine opportunities, supports development and provides a safe, respectful and supportive working environment.

Approved Employers receive a digital badge to display on their website and, where appropriate, to use within tender and social value documentation. They also sit in our partner network, alongside the referral organisations and training providers that make the whole thing work.

• Genuine entry-level opportunities, not just shifts
• Willingness to let people learn from the trades around them
• Safe sites, correct PPE, proper inductions
• A named contact for welfare issues
• Respect for every worker, whatever their start in life
• Openness to temporary-to-permanent progression
