Start somewhere. Go anywhere.
LabourLok is a starting point, not a ceiling. Most of what you learn, you learn on site, alongside skilled workers.
Someone might join as a general labourer and progress into...
- 01A skilled trade.
- 02Security.
- 03Facilities management.
- 04Events.
- 05Site supervision.
- 06Management.
- 07Permanent employment.
- 08Or something completely different.
A starting point, not a ceilingWe don't run the courses. We open the doors to them.
LabourLok is not a training provider. We give you access to training and qualifications through trusted third parties, point you to the right route, and help fund it where we can.
Learn on site
Most learning happens on the job, working alongside skilled tradespeople who show you how it is done.
We signpost
We help you understand which cards, tickets and qualifications your chosen route needs, and where to get them.
Help to fund
Where we can, we help fund the training and cards that move you forward.
Trusted providers
Courses and qualifications are delivered by third-party training providers, not by LabourLok.
Skills Construction Centre
Bury and Bolton. We currently work with Skills Construction Centre to give LabourLok workers access to construction training.
CITB membership and new partners
Our CITB membership is in progress, and we are working towards partnerships with organisations such as Build Salford. We will add them here as they are confirmed.
Work hard. Learn more. Earn more.
As workers gain experience, qualifications, skills and responsibility, their earning potential can grow. The Skills Uplift is how we make that visible and deliberate rather than accidental.
Experience
Hours on site, logged and recognised. The first hundred hours change how you are seen and how you see yourself.
Access to qualifications
Cards, licences, tickets and courses relevant to the pathway you choose, such as CSCS, SIA, plant and first aid, through third-party providers we signpost and help fund where we can.
Skills
Practical skills learned on site, alongside the skilled workers around you.
Responsibility
Chargehand, supervisor, team lead. Responsibility is where the bigger pay lives.
Some roles require specific qualifications, competency cards, licences, apprenticeships or specialist training before certain work can be undertaken. LabourLok helps candidates understand the pathways available, signposts them to the training they may need and helps fund it where we can.

Employment isn't the only destination.
You might become a brilliant employee. You might learn a trade. You might become a manager. Or one day, you might employ people yourself.
LabourLok supports entrepreneurial spirit.
Our founder was NEET as a teenager. The idea for LabourLok began at 17. At 18, he is building a business designed to create opportunities for other young people.
We don't want to tell you what your success should look like. We want to help you get into a position where you have choices.
The best reason to leave LabourLok? You don't need us anymore.
LabourLok actively supports progression into your future career, whether that is a permanent role, a skilled trade or a business of your own.
Clients may have options for immediate permanent transfer or a supported transition arrangement, subject to LabourLok's contractual terms and applicable legislation. For workers, the message is simple: do the work, build the skills, and a permanent role is a real outcome, not a rumour.
Your first job is a starting point.
Where you take it is up to you. Join LabourLok. Get work ready. Get experience. Find your path.
